Minimum Wage
The federal minimum wage has been stuck at $7.25 since 2009, and while California and other states have higher minimums, $15 or $16 an hour still isn’t enough for families to live off of.
We’ve been stuck at $7.25 because corporations have too much influence in Washington. But the profits we’re seeing from multinational corporations don’t lie: these companies can afford to pay the people who power them a living wage.
We should boost the minimum wage to $20 per hour nationally and $25 per hour in California, both indexed to inflation. If you’re with me, can you sign my petition in support of a higher minimum wage?
